Wayside Cross on Drexler Farm
This picture was taken by my Dad, Fred Schmuck in 1944 showing his Uncle Tony Drexler beside the original Cross which was erected by the Kremmer/ Cremmer/ or Cremmen Family in 1830.
The original cross was moved to "Doon Pioneer museum . The present cross was carved by Vern (Fernando) Drexler and donated to the Maryhill Historic Society. The original location of the cross was about 200 ft south of this location. The present location is directly in front of where the "Sebastian & Francisca (Sauer) Drexler" Homestead was located until the 1960's when the farm was sold and the house demolished.
